Ancient Odeons and Bouleuterions in Turkey Selinus (Gazipaşa) |

The Odeon struck into the mountain ridge dates from the Hellenistic period. Hardly anything of the city's former town hall has survived the centuries. Only a few large blocks of the foundation and a small rest of the right side wall and the upper retaining wall escaped the use of the building as a quarry. The marble seating steps of the cavea were removed in post-Byzantine times and used for lime production. |
